Philippians 1:6

“I am sure of this, that he who started a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus”

In April 2014, the Philip family (Monachan, Leena, Mevin and Meeval) had relocated to Rotherham after living in Sheffield for several years. Rotherham, at the time, was a town that had a small population of around 30 Keralite families, all from different backgrounds. The Lord had spoken to the Philip family on many occasions, that they were a missionary family, and in the Lord’s appointed time, new avenues would be open. Throughout the years, their prayer was modest—they hoped to find just one family to join them in kneeling for prayer and fellowship at home.

Towards the end of the decade, South Yorkshire witnessed a mass influx of Kerala nurses, professionals, and international students migrating to the UK for employment and study purposes. There was a growing hunger for a spiritual and empowering environment within the Keralalite community. Many of the individuals who migrated were Pentecostal believers and expressed a desire for a vibrant, Christ-centered church to be established.

A small fellowship in the

heart of Rotherham

After receiving clear confirmation from the Lord, a small prayer fellowship was formed in Malayalam, on 22 December 2019. In the light of the COVID-19 pandemic, all services were conducted via the Zoom Platform for almost 18 months. Although those days were challenging, the Church witnessed exceptional growth.

As the Church expanded, it became increasingly necessary for it to have sound structure and governance in order for it to run smoothly. Throughout the years, God was faithful in adding skilled and experienced individuals to steer this process. Today, the Church leadership is overseen by the Senior Pastor and Trustees, regulated by the Charity Commission.

Since inception, God's unceasing grace has since then been seen in every facet of the church's existence, resulting in a continuous rise in the number of believers and spiritual growth.

Restoration Church Rotherham is an independent Pentecostal church in fellowship with Assemblies of God, Great Britain (AoG GB). We exist to serve our Community as a Christ-centered Church with a living testimony, that when God leads us on a Mission, it is He that equips, empowers and trains us for His service.

In every season, now and in the future, we eagerly look forward to what is ahead of us in South Yorkshire, as we submit ourselves as feeble instruments in the hands of our great Master.
